Abdoun: One Big Detour

I feel sorry for anyone living in Abdoun right now. I believe that the Greater Amman Authority (or whoever is in charge of infrastructure and road construction) got a little slap happy with the detour signs and decided to put one on nearly every road. It’s really frustrating trying to navigate through Abdoun right now. And I’m sure it’s even more frustrating for the businesses and shop owners in the area, although the increased traffic when the construction is finished will probably be worth the hassle.

I miss Abdoun...Abdoun circle area is one of my favorite spots when in Jordan...

Traffic in Jordan is horrific without any construction so I can't even imagine how it is right now! But coming from a highly populated city, the traffic itself doesn't really bother me much...what really is frustrating is how people do not obey any type of traffice rules!

As far as construction, Chicago is never ending in that arena!

Yeah it became soooo screwd up after that bridge, it looks ugly... And the detours are really annoying! Sometimes when I went home through Abdoun toavoid traffic, we would get lost in that maze of detours... But you know,, you can't just quit going there, Gerard ice and things arethe best!

Completely agree! The Abdoun area has become a maze. Problem is, the Municipality close or block roads unexpectadly, so you end up following the detour signs only to get to a dead end. Then you have to figure out a way around it, because the new sings are not up yet.

Regarding shop owners, spoke to a few over the weekend who claimed they never received a penny in compensation for all the losses in sales and revenue over the last 5 months. Very sad!
